Saturday: 10/26/13
One of those days... you know... the kind where you get surprised and asked to take someones place in a group that's going to a Arizona Cardinals game. Otherwise only thing i remember was that Notre Dame beat Air Force:)
Sunday: 10/27/13
Another day of going to church like every other, but there was a football game to go to afterwards!
This was really fun... The high lights weren't even the game! I had a crazy laugh with Christian when we were yell and snapping our fingers to try to get Kari's attention. Even though she was sitting just in front of me. Later me and Ashton started photo-bombing everyone in sit. It didn't matter if we knew you or not:)
As it turned out the Cardinals won easily, but subsequently my fantasy football teams lost:(\
Wednesday 10/30/13
In the evening there was like 8 kids were at prodigals and i was in charge and alone... and i felt it. I had these kids screaming around me. Not respecting each other as far as guys to girls go. Its hard to know if your helping them when there is so much disrespect.
BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS MY NEW NIECE "REBECCA ROSE GINGERICH" OR "BECCA"
O and the Red Sox won the World Series!!!!
Thursday 10/31/13 "Halloween"
The fabled day that makes every christian cringe. It makes me angry how us Christians put Halloween as 100% pure evil. And i saw something very different. We at Prodigals passed out candy and face painted the kids faces. Now, they did give me the option of not helping out, but i decided i would.
When we were at it for around an hour one of the boys really needs to get his costume because he wasn't able to get it before that day. So i decided to take him to get one. First off i was really surprised how many people hadn't bought a costume yet! Then his costume was gone. So his brother stood in line for a different costume while me and Carlos ran off to another store to maybe find one. He walked out to the other side of the cars and started walking towards the store while i stayed on the side walk. For some reason we both started racing each other. Steadily I caught up, tied him, and then i passed him. Then all of a sudden he was GONE. but then he showed up:) As it turns out while he was running; he ran into two metal poles that were hanging out the back of a little pick up. The best part was i didn't have to keep him calm. He was fine. Anyways we eventually got his costume and handed out candy to some kids from the neighborhood, and yes with this experience of kids being kids and boys battling with plastic bloody swords. Some of my view of Halloween changed.
Friday 11/1/13
So this was a rough day. Setting up in the park for community night; one of the neighborhood boys was really pushing my buttons. While i was setting up the volleyball and this boy was jokingly dropping the f-bomb or the n-word or telling "you Irish people have no idea what your doing". So by the time i was done with him i was already ready for the night to be over. Almost ruined my week.
